The 13,000 series Heckels, built starting from the late '80s into the '90s, are some of the first "modern" bassoons to be built. They are very thick-walled, with a robust sound and huge dynamic range. Many of these instruments are actively being used today and so are pretty hard to come by.

About This Bassoon

This bassoon is a single-owner instrument, played professionally in the Milwaukee Symphony for its entire life. The instrument has come to us as the player has retired and wanted a lighter option that was easier on the hands.

This is an excellent bassoon. Extremely responsive, even scale, huge dynamic range, and very colorful sound. It also has some extra key work including a high E key, RH whisper key lock, Ab-Bb trill, and extra rollers for the RH thumb stack. If you're a professional bassoonist looking for an upgrade or just interested in a high-quality, professional bassoon, this is a can't-miss instrument.
