This Polisi bassoon is quite a find! Polisi bassoons were patented by William Polisi, a former principal bassoonist of the New York Philharmonic. Polisi patented a unique configuration of bassoon and commissioned different manufacturers to make them. Some of these bassoons were made by Kohlert, and others were made by Schreiber. This bassoon has seen use at a high level of play, by a college bassoonist. While this bassoon has many of the key work hallmarks of the Polisi bassoons, such as the Eb trill, plateau C key, low C#/D# trill, low C plate, RH thumb whisper key, and thumb Ab/Bb trill below the thumb Ab key, it is missing the unique "half-hole" key that Polisi's are known for.

This is a unique instrument that would be a great option for an advanced player, looking for a great option with extra key work. The Fox bocal is a good match, but you could also match a Heckel or Leitzinger bocal to this instrument.
