The Fox Model 460 is an entry-level professional bassoon. It features the same bore design as the Fox Model 660, and is exclusively made with Red Maple. In order to make this instrument's production streamlined and more cost-effective, this bassoon features much of the same key work as the Renard Artist Models. There are little to no customizations available on this bassoon in order to make the assembly quicker than the other professional models. It still features Fox's incredible quality of construction. The long bell configuration is also the only bell option for this model.
The bore of the 460 lends this instrument a lot of heft and color that Renard bassoons struggle with. Paired with a Heckel bocal, these instrument have a lot of potential to be great options for fans of Fox that want something with more power than a 240.
