Fox Renard bassoons are the instruments of choice for both students and teachers across the US. Their even, consistent scales make them usable by even the youngest players, and their tone quality sets them apart from the competition. Their combination of quality and affordability blows the competition away.

The Renard Model 222 features a select, aged Maple body. The 222 takes its design cues from the 220. The main difference is that 222 has less key work. As a result, it is a great entry point for wooden bassoons. The warm tone, even intonation, and easy response are hallmarks of the 222. Like all Fox bassoons, this instrument has silver plating on all key work.

Additional Features

The 222 features a plateau key for the left hand third finger; additionally, it has a thumb Ab key on the boot, as well as rollers for both little fingers. As of September 2022, the 222 comes with a high D key as standard.

This instrument features several key work options that MMI regularly orders. These added keys advance the playing level of the bassoon, but do have a slightly higher price. All higher levels also feature the options of the lower levels.

Custom orders for this instrument add a ring C key or whisper key lock. Please inquire about upgraded 222 models.

This bassoon comes with a Fox C2 and C3 bocal. Additionally, it comes in a Tutti Fagotti case.
